Become a Follower of Christ

Jesus Christ is the focal point of the Christian faith. Are you ready to make the commitment to follow Jesus?  It's as simple as A-B-C. Here's how.

Admit your are a sinner. The Bible says all of us are sinners (Romans 3:23) and that sin eternally separates us from God (Romans 6:23).

However, there is a resolution to your sin problem: Jesus Christ died as a sacrifice to satisfy God's demand for punishment of sins (John 3:16, Romans 3:24-25a, Romans 5:8). The Bible says that all who Believe that Jesus is God's son and what he did on the cross is the only remedy for the sin problem will have eternal life (John 3:16, John 14:6). The biblical word translated "believe" in English in reference to believing in Jesus for salvation means to not only believe the facts about who Jesus is and what he did but to also embrace his teachings so that your life takes a new direction.

Now, will you Confess that Jesus is your Lord (Romans 10:9) and Commit to the living your life his way (Luke 9:23)?

Romans 10:13 says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." You can do this by praying a prayer similar to this:

"Dear God, I know I am a sinner and that my sin separates me from you. But I believe Jesus is your Son and that he took the punishment for my sins when he died on the cross. I believe this is the only remedy for my sin problem. I confess that Jesus is my Lord and I commit my life to you. Please forgive me of my sins and accept me as your child. In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you prayed this prayer (or something like it) with a sincere heart, you are now a follower of Christ...you are saved...you are a Christian. It is important that you take the next steps toward spiritual maturity in your relationship with Christ by attending Bible studies and worship services with other Christians.
